About Toko

I have a very open-minded approach. There are so many ways to learn! I try to draw on your learning strengths so that my tutoring can be as productive as possible.

I enjoy seeing a student get excited about solving a problem or learning a skill that they had been working on for a long time. That feeling of accomplishment and confidence is what I strive to instill in my students.

Throughout my high school years, I tutored many middle school and high school students. When I went to college, I helped tutor my younger teammates who were also pursuing a biology degree like me. Teaching and sharing knowledge is something that I enjoy doing because I believe a chance for a successful future is so important for everyone!

I graduated from Emory University in 2019 with a B.S. in Biology and a Minor in Japanese. I was a pitcher for the Emory softball team and was National Runner-Up my senior year. With my experience as a student-athlete at an elite university, I am experienced in finding a balance between school work and extracurricular activities.

Currently, I am working as a certified nursing assistant. I have just completed my hours and am now actively applying for graduate school to become a Physician Assistant.

I would like to know your educational or career goals! Whether it's to complete a project, pass a class, or go to college-- I am here to help you. Please let me know how you learn best so I can design a tutoring plan that will work best with your needs. Before every session, I would like a heads up on what topic we will be covering that way I can prepare myself to have a productive session.

Give each tutor a test run! It is important to feel comfortable with your tutor so that you can ask questions and get the help you need. Every tutor teaches differently.
