About David

I have a complete love and passion for the game. Teaching started when I had kids of my own that started to play and realized a need for knowledgeable coaches to start the athletes out right as opposed to breaking the athlete back down due to bad habits that weren't addressed at an earlier age.

I played baseball through high school and have coached baseball/softball for more than 18 years as well as umpired for more than 20 years. I am a constant student of the game and believe you can never learn enough and the game is always teaching me and others.

I like to start with the basics to see where the athlete is throwing wise, fielding, hitting and talk to get a feel for the mental side of the game to see how much "ball smart" they are, then build those blocks

I have worked with all ages, from tee ball to college players

Both sides need to be able to communicate well. The instructor needs to be clear and find different ways to teach the game. Cookie cutter approach does not work. Yes, there are a lot of similarities in fundamentals but many more ways to get to the end result. Also it would be nice if the instructor worked on the mental side of the game.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
There are no dumb questions. Never be afraid to ask a question if you don't understand what it is the instructor is trying to get across ask until you get the "ah ha" answer
