Training: MFA: Yale School of Drama / BFA: Rutgers/Mason Gross / Interlochen Arts Academy

I have trained/acted professionally since I was 8 years old. I graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy, hold a BFA from Rutgers/Mason Gross, and an MFA from Yale Drama. I've assistant directed at Interlochen Center for the Arts Summer Camp, trained with the Community Word Project in NYC Public Schools with their Teaching Artist Training Program, and most recently spent the summer as a live-in teacher teaching singing, acting, social justice, and technology to a thirteen and four year old. I have abundant experience in working with children who are differently abled/neuro - atypical and would love to continue that work.

I'm passionate about teaching/coaching and approaching every student in a way that seeks to highlight and unearth their individual strengths--regardless of whether they aim to pursue acting professionally or not. I strive to create a space that is safe, playful, challenging, collaborative, and respectful. My greatest wish is that working together will result in a deeper understanding of and harmony with one's self; where we can integrate our creative impulses and child-self with our lived experience and our becoming.

I love acting and I love the skills that the study of it has taught me; as an artist and as a human in the world.

I think acting is a magical way to grow and have renewed access to the world and to your relationships in it. Whether someone wants to become an actor or not, I want to facilitate their growth by studying other humans and growing skills of empathy, critical thinking, creativity, imagination, and play.

At root, I love seeing people grow and surprise themselves. My goal is to see someone feel safe enough to be more of themselves than they were when they walked through the door.

My first teaching job was working at the Interlochen Arts Camp as an assistant director for the intermediate division's production of Twelfth Night, directed by Matt Gutschick.

I have also spent much of my life working with children in childcare capacities, including children who are differently abled.

I went back to school for my graduate degree in Acting at Yale, in hopes of gaining the skills and degree necessary to mentor a younger generation of humans and artists.

BADA: Scholarship to attend and study Shakespeare in Oxford.

About the lesson

I like to ask questions and understand what you would like to get out of working together. The first session is about laying the groundwork for boundaries, expectations, and goals. I'll also use this time to get a sense of who you are and how you work.

I'm currently coaching a few high school aged students for their college auditions and one student for their graduate school auditions.

I have worked with children as young as 12 at Interlochen Arts Camp on Shakespeare.

I have spent a lot of time working with children who are differently abled, including those on the spectrum, and with physical and cognitive disabilities. Being hard of hearing myself, this is a population that I am especially passionate about working with.

I would advise them to look for someone who sees you as a whole person and not just an actor or artist, but as a human being who is learning about the world and in the process of becoming. I would recommend finding someone who knows the training school audition process and has been through one of these programs.

Above all, I would advise you find someone who is kind and makes you feel comfortable and safe enough to take risks.

I spent the summer as a live-in tutor for a 13 year old boy with a developmental disability. I taught Singing, Acting, Alexander work, Movement, Social Justice, and Social Etiquette.

Halfway through the summer, his 4 year old sister joined us and we put on a production of a play for their family; written, costumed, and sound designed by them!

The summer ended with a singing recital in which the young man sang many disparate kinds of of music, including songs by/from Bon Iver, My Chemical Romance, Dear Evan Hansen, Seussical, Once, and Zedd.
