Experienced tutor in Acting in Los Angeles, Actors Workout offers private lessons tailored to your needs.

The Actors Workout Studio has exceeded all expectations in furthering my acting skills. The teachers are perceptive, kind and creative and all have a genuine love of actors and their talent.

The marked difference between this studio and other acting classes I've taken over the years is that the goal at AWS is not to teach you how to act... rather the focus is in helping you get out of your own way - to allow your natural gifts to easily come forth without 'trying' or 'forcing' behavior based on theory or preconceived notions of how the 'script should go.'

The amount of time each student has to work in every class is beyond generous, and because the content of the classes is based on very personal attention to each student, the exercises or assignments for each person will vary depending on where they are in the process and their individual needs.

I couldn't recommend AWS more strongly... it's why I'm still there - still discovering unseen aspects of my talent, and why my confidence on auditions has become a given. Thank you AWS!

I grew more in one month working with Fran Montano than I have at all of my previous studios combined. I have been working with Fran and all the bonus classes at Actors Workout Studio since November 2018. I love the individualized approach, and the range of learning opportunities available to me as a student there. Fran's knowledge and approach is truly unique and exceptional! I feel more prepared for auditions and to work!

AWS is a safe, creative, and encouraging environment. It feels like I’m with my artistic family whenever I’m there. I can honestly say without exaggeration that AWS has been life changing for me.

Fran Montano, the Emmy Award winning actor, has created something called the Actors Workout Studio. Really it should be referred to as the Actors Workout University! This is not hyperbole, this is fact. Not only is Fran an outstanding teacher that explores acting using a combination of techniques like Meisner and others. He also is very patient, creative and encouraging. The Studio offers classes for actors at different levels of experiences and he surrounds himself with other like minded teachers. So, you the actor have choices in whose class is the best fit for you. Wait there is more! The studio also offers bonus classes to help actors to sharpen their skills from cold reads, to scene study, and showcases. The Studio also has writing classes and workshops for writers and in doing that a place for writers and actors to collaborate! He has created a wonderful and ingenious environment for artist to practice and develop the acting muscle that is so meaningful and important to an actor’s success. The studio also consistently puts up plays that make use of the talented actors and writers skills and they are open to all actors for casting.Go to North Hollywood and discover this fantastic gem!

Fran Montano has an incredibly keen eye and instinct for actors. He cuts right through the b.s. and gets straight to the heart of things!
He is nurturing, encouraging but demanding that his actors live up to their full potential. His methods give you an accessible, solid approach to tackling the work and keeping it alive, spontaneous and fresh. Acting is fun again!!! The other teachers on staff are remarkable in their own right, as well.
