About Ivan

- I have taught professionally and continuously for 15 years (music schools, private lessons, seminars)
- I teach:
--plucked string instruments: guitar (electric, classical, acoustic; playing with fingers, plectrum and slide), bass guitar, popular traditional instruments (balalaika, banjo, mandolin, tamburitza, ukulele)
--keyboards: acoustic and electric piano (Clavinet, Rhodes, Wurlitzer), organ (Hammond), synthesizer
--music theory: harmony, polyphony, arranging, discipline of musical instruments, musical forms
- I have taught and I teach in various music schools most music genres: classical, jazz, latin, pop, R&B and soul, rock, traditional
- I teach to a wide range of ages, from beginners to advanced (individually and in groups), persons with disabilities and special needs
- With the quality of my teaching I have earned the trust of my pupils, their parents, superiors and colleagues. I have inspired many of my pupils to strive towards exceptional performances, to become professional musicians and have therewith also inspired any of my colleagues to become better teachers.

- I teach by sight reading traditional and contemporary notation, by the absolute and relative method and I teach by ear
- For precision in rhythm and tempo I use a metronome in my teaching
- I teach my pupils to be skilled in improvising with different styles

- I approach every pupil individually focusing on their motor skills, cognitive development while also considering their emotional stages
- Right from the beginning I teach every pupil to be independent by using the correct techniques for practice exercises, by accepting the artistic rules of expression and to develop creative personal expression in playing
- Through my various teaching methods, techniques and personal pedagogical expression, I engender and strengthen great dedication from my pupils to learn about music and how to play their chosen instrument

Perfect! Ivan is a great teacher
Ivan is a extremely knowledgeable teacher who i got into contact with after trying and failing to learn music theory on my own, Ivan has been very understanding and receptive to my weaker points and manages to structure our lessons in a way which makes learning music theory fun yet challenging. He is also well informed when it come to types of music ranging from pop, funk, jazz, rock and more.

I am a self-taught recording musician, and as a child was able to read music and play violin however I have forgotten all this since so decided to get piano lessons. I recently had my first piano lesson with Ivan. He was patient, explained everything thoroughly and answered any questions I had.
