About Jago
I have been playing piano for the last 4 years, at first teaching myself using YouTube videos before receiving classical training later on as I began studying music at A level, which greatly improved my playing ability, note reading and understanding of musical concepts. I have experience in tutoring my own piano students privately as well as through completing a placement with the SIPS education music service where I shadowed, supported and led lessons to students in various primary, secondary and SEN schools across Sandwell.

Some students may have little to no experience with the piano at all, and that's fine! If this is the case then my lessons will begin with a basic overview of all of the notes on the piano and working on identifying these, especially middle C. We will then focus on developing the correct posture and stance for a pianist and begin working on a simple, easy to remember piece to get the student started. As they progress we will work on more complex pieces, learn various warm-up exercises and be introduced to several playing techniques and musical terminology such as legato articulation or crescendos in dynamics.
