About Ondrej

The whole mathematics, and by extension, our whole civilization, is built from "nothing" and "something". 0 and +1. . Everything follows from there by logic, and by being precise about what we are saying. However, children and young students are presented with endless list of rules with little to no explanation. No wonder they get disinterested and switch off.

This is enough for the lower levels, to fuddle their way through. But it becomes an obstacle when trying to reach levels 7 and beyond, A-levels, University Foundation levels. One needs an understanding of the underlying structure.

My background is in theoretical computer science and abstract algebra (PhD level), which means I understand mathematical structure deeply. I've found that communicating that structure — rather than hiding it behind rules — is exactly what builds the confidence to tackle unfamiliar problems under pressure.

About the lesson

I offer structured tailored tuition for GCSE and A-Level students — covering the full curriculum, including the harder material that separates 7s from 9s, and B grades from As at A-Level. At that upper level, understanding the underlying principles isn't a luxury — it's exactly what's required.

The questions are designed to reward genuine reasoning, and students are marked on their working, not just the answer. Without that foundation, students hit a wall: too many rules, no connections between them, and no way to reconstruct what they've forgotten under pressure.

Lessons are tailored:
• Strengthening fundamentals for students aiming to secure a pass
• Moving grades from 5–6 to 7–9 at GCSE
• Supporting A-Level students targeting A/A* and competitive university courses

Students learn how to think mathematically — not just memorize procedures. This develops independence, resilience, and strong exam performance. I work with motivated students and supportive families who value serious academic progress delivered with patience and clarity.
