About David
I have a B. M. in Music Education with Emphasis in Viola Performance and a Master of Music in Composition. I have taught all four bowed string instruments at elementary, secondary and collegiate levels. My students have done well in state competition and have been admitted to respected music schools. I enjoy writing arrangements and compositions designed to meet specific instructional objectives, and to supplement standard literature. I live in Columbia, SC, and am available for Zoom as well as in-person lessons.

I like for students to enjoy making music and learning about music. Fundamentals of technique, interpretation and theory are important in our work. Methods of practice that yield results are also emphasized. I like teaching adults as well as children, doing best with students who are least 9 years of age.
