About Abbas
I'm a BSc Computer Science / Mathematics graduate. I have been offering lessons to students in secondary school for the past five years. I teach Mathematics and computer science. My critical thinking and problem-solving skills have made it possible for me to find suitable methods and techniques to make students learn and understand mathematics the right way.

Explicit Systematic Instructions. This is a method where I model skills, guide students through those skills and then check for understanding. I also emphasize priority standards. Priority standards are my must-know standards needed for mastery to advance to the next topic. Assessment of student performance is necessary as it provides feedback. During teaching, I: Frequently check for understanding to see that I'm not moving too fast and then the criterion-referenced test which I use to measure the degree to which a student has mastered a particular skill. I set high expectations for my students: because by having confidence and belief in them they are motivated for success, I implement active participation by engaging my students and get them to join the discussion, I use real-world experiences and then set clear short-term and long-term goals. Lastly, I teach my students the basic processes of problem-solving as well as critical thinking skills.
