About Dan
I'm a seasoned legal academic, tutor, and practising lawyer with a unique blend of scholarly excellence and professional experience. I was one of the youngest students to earn a PhD in Law from the University of Leeds — at the age of 26 — following my Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the same university. I practise law with a law firm in Nairobi, Kenya, offering advisory services in financial services, commercial and property law. This blend of academic excellence and real-world practice enables me to offer a well-rounded, contextual approach to legal education. I’ve been privileged to shape legal minds and advise clients for over three decades — and I remain deeply passionate about both. Outside practice, I am an aviation enthusiast and hold a Private Pilot’s Licence — a discipline that, like law, demands precision, analysis, and being calm under pressure. This unique blend of academic excellence, legal practice, and personal discipline enables me to mentor students not only to understand the law, but to think like lawyers.
