About Helena

I am Helena and I am an experienced Italian Native Tutor from Italy, Sicily. I live in Los Angeles. My education is related to the international communication and marketing field. In 2008 I got a Bachelor's Degree in Foreign Language and International Communication at the University of Catania, Italy and In 2011 I got a Master's Degree in Brand Management and Communications at the IULM University in Milan, Italy. I have worked for different companies, in Italy and abroad, in the communication and marketing field. I have been worked as Italian teacher for the past 8 years. I tutor both online, through Skype or other platforms, and in person, with students of different background, languages and ages, from kids, to teenagers and adults. I teach one to one classes and also group classes, from 2 people to groups of several people. I have worked in Italy, France and US. I started teaching foreigners friends who lived in Catania, my city, and who wanted to learn the language while living there. I continued in France and US with French and American people who wanted to learn Italian mostly to travel to the country and be able to speak the language. I found it a very interesting and educational experience and I kept doing it for many years. My knowledge and skills with teaching come from my degree in foreign languages and also from many years of teaching during while I did a lot of researches and studies about Italian language and I also followed several seminars, conferences and online courses to get trained as a teacher. I love teaching and being able to develop my students language skills and performances.

About the lesson

Depending on what is your goal I I’ll be offering grammar, speaking, writing and listening exercises. I have a lot of digital material and resources to work with and I teach any level and ages! What sets me apart as a tutor is my unique teaching technique that mixes conversation exercise with written exercises by using games and quizzes that will help you learn fast and long term.
