About Cara

I am an English specialist tutor with a genuine passion for helping students feel confident, capable, and proud of their progress. Having progressed through grammar school, top exam results, and higher education myself, I understand both the academic challenges students face and the pressure that can come with them. I chose to teach because I love seeing students grow — not just in grades, but in self-belief. I know how powerful it is when learning finally “clicks,” and I aim to create lessons where students feel supported, encouraged, and comfortable asking questions. My goal is always to make learning feel manageable and motivating, rather than stressful. Teaching allows me to combine my love of English with my desire to help others succeed. Supporting students as they work towards their goals — whether that’s the 11+, GCSEs, A-levels, or beyond — is something I take great pride in, and I am always fully invested in their journey.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around confidence, clarity, and genuine enjoyment of learning. I believe students achieve their best results when they feel supported, understood, and proud of their progress — not pressured or overwhelmed. I take a highly personalised approach, tailoring each lesson to the individual student’s needs, goals, and learning style. Every session is carefully planned, and I provide written lesson summaries, detailed feedback, and ongoing support. I mark work thoroughly, proofread writing in depth, and focus on developing both exam technique and strong subject understanding. I invest fully in every student I teach — academically and personally. As a result, students grow not only in ability, but in confidence and self-belief. Many of my students stay in contact long after their exams to share their successes, from grammar school offers to top GCSE and A-level results and university places. Seeing students achieve their goals is the most rewarding part of my work. My teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and structured, helping students feel calm, motivated, and “over the moon” with their progress — while consistently achieving outstanding results.
