About Iris
I have enjoyed playing the piano from a young age, and music has always been an important part of my life. As a tutor, I hope to inspire my students and support them on their own musical journeys, whether they are beginners or more experienced players.
In lessons, I focus on building strong foundational techniques such as posture, finger control, and musical understanding, while also making learning enjoyable. Alongside technical work, I encourage students to play pieces they enjoy and feel excited about, helping them stay motivated and confident. Sharing music that students love has been one of the most rewarding parts of teaching, and I enjoy every moment of learning and growing together with my students.

I have been playing the piano for over 20 years and am a Grade 8 pianist with a strong passion for classical music. Alongside piano, I am also a vocalist and have sung in a choir for eight years, which has helped develop my musicality, listening skills, and overall musicianship.
I have over five years of experience working with students of different ages and a range of educational needs. This experience allows me to tailor my lessons to suit each student’s pace, learning style, and goals.
My lessons are structured yet flexible, focusing on developing solid technique, musical understanding, and confidence at the piano. I aim to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel motivated, enjoy making music, and develop a lasting appreciation for piano playing.

Perfect! Iris is friendly and approachable. She starts off by understanding your current ability and your goal. She then tailors her approaches accordingly. I like how she procures music sheets of my liking so I always look forward to our lessons! Also, she seems to have lots of experience with kids so I wouldn't hesitate if my kids need a piano tutor.
