About Luqman
I am a university student who has been playing chess for over 14 years. I started learning the game at the age of 7 and began representing my school at 8 years old. By 9, I was representing my district, and at 11, I represented Selangor at state-level competitions but unfortunately placed 4th, going home medal-less. By 12, I came back stronger, securing silver medal and by 13, I managed to secure Gold Medal for Selangor L15 Team Category.
I currently hold a FIDE rating of around 1600+ and maintain an online rating of approximately 1900. Through years of competitive experience, I have developed a strong understanding of practical gameplay, strategy, and decision-making under pressure.
Chess has played a significant role in shaping my discipline and focus. Today, I am passionate about helping beginners build a solid foundation and improve step by step. I believe improvement comes from understanding ideas clearly and learning in a supportive environment.
My goal is to guide students patiently, build their confidence, and help them enjoy the learning process while steadily improving their skills.

My lessons are designed for beginners who want to learn chess in a clear and simple way. However, I do accept intermediate students as well, which I will focus more on tactics, middle and endgame. I focus on helping students understand the basics properly, such as how to develop their pieces, spot simple tactics, and avoid common mistakes.
Each 60-minute session includes sparring, guided practice, reviewing games together, and explaining ideas step by step. I make sure students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace.
Lessons are conducted online using interactive chess boards, so students can actively participate and stay engaged throughout the session. Chess has always grew on me, and now I want to bring the passion to others!
