About Alia

My name is Alia Eddington and I have been dancing since kindergarten when I took my first ballet class. My dancing journey was a hard one. As I battled with my self-expression, I was never confident with my dancing. I would compare myself to famous dancers and people with more experience than myself which made me not want to dance much anymore. But that all changed when I got into high school. There, dancing became something other than just a performance, but it became something fun and a way I could authentically express myself. Dancing was my escape from my problems and an outlet for every bad thought I would feel, I would release it through dancing. Now I am dancing at a Culture Shock dance studio doing the thing I love while also sharpening my skills and I would love to show you everything that I have learned!

About the lesson

When working with me we will sprinkle between beginning, intermediate, and advanced routines. We will work on foundations of dance and practice attention to detail. Lessons will always start with stretching to get our bodies ready for movement and good music to pump us up! What sets me apart as a tutor is that I am not only there to teach you, but to allow you to have fun and express yourself in a new way. Allowing yourself to vibe and have fun is my goal in every class. The one thing that I would want to be taken from my lesson is a newfound confidence and a love for your self-expression!

Alia is the most positive, uplifting, and passionate dancer, let alone person, I have ever had the honor of working with on a project. She puts 100% of herself into every single thing she does especially when it comes to dance. It is evident from her each and every performance how much she loves to dance. Her choreography is phenomenal, with hip hop being her strongsuit, and anyone who has ever worked with her could confidently talk for hours about how productive and helpful she is with routines. I would recommend Alia to any human looking for dance help; she is an angel!

I danced with Alia in high school, she was easily one of the best dancers/choreographers there! When she taught my class and I choreography she was clear and super fun to work with. She always showed up for rehearsals and always came in ready and energetic!
