About Lanie
I have a love for linguistics and interest in languages, which led me to a degree in Journalism and Spanish. Following graduation I relocated from the US to London to earn my Cambridge CELTA and then started my first teaching job in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I wanted to further my career thus I returned to London to earn my MA in TESOL, which launched my career in teaching and tutoring at schools and universities in 5 different countries. In the past 5 years I've joined the field of online teaching, and have been working with students from across the globe!

My lessons are designed to meet the needs and preferences of the clients with their targets and goals forming the basis of every class. We go at the pace of the student, and have classes adjusted to the appropriate level of the student. Lessons are usually content-based, meaning the language is contextualized in interesting materials such as video clips, internet articles, or topics of the student's choosing (for example, one student I work with is a chef, so many of our lessons are language in the context of food, speaking with others in the industry, and business topics in general.) Lessons are also FUN and student-centered!
