About Lucas
As a second-year A-level student, I am well aware of the worries and difficulties faced by STEM students - I have passed through them as well. I want to help students develop a passion for their subjects and gain a deep insight into how to improve their study skills in order to unlock their full potential.
I believe that every student is capable of grades 7-9s and A*/As given the right help and motivation. I have worked with many GCSE students who have gone on to achieve very high grades in maths. I am very comfortable presenting students with problems which may appear difficult, but can be answered using their knowledge in elegant ways.

I offer tips and tricks which have helped me go through GCSEs with thirteen grade 9s, A-levels with four predicted A*s, and an EPQ dissertation with an expected A*/A.
I aim to train my students in the same ways I teach myself content; this means working at the core of the issue, which is understanding. I will work through problems and attempt to create a dynamic picture of a subject in my students, which will aid them in studying independently in order to achieve the highest grades possible.
In a session, you can expect to receive reflective commentary on worksheets, advice on how to improve exam technique, and conversation-based explanations of topics. I hope to progress to discussing topics outside of the specification that may help students to gain a further love for their subject.
I am very comfortable tutoring Biology, Chemistry, and Further Maths at all stages up to AS-level, Maths up to A-level, and other subjects up to GCSE level.
