About Tracey

I am friendly, patient and understanding, with a good sense of humour where appropriate! I have a passion for accents and dialect and I love talking to people from other countries and sharing my knowledge about England in order to prepare for travel or future work prospects. I really enjoy teaching kids, teens and adults of all levels and abilities. I have a neutral accent (mainstream Received Pronunciation) and students comment that I am very easy to understand.

About the lesson

I am friendly, approachable and well motivated. I will work with you at the pace that you require and nothing is too much trouble. I have a very nurturing and caring teaching style. Lessons are tailored to the student’s needs which will be discussed in the first lesson. I will consider the best approach for your needs and develop a teaching programme just for you. I teach English as a second language, whether it be for a student’s travel or work, but also for Cambridge exams and IELTS. I have prepared students from all across the world for exams with successful results. I also teach native speakers – helping them to improve their skills from KS1 upwards. I am able to tutor for the 11+, SATS and GCSE English Language. I have experience with proofreading and copy editing for both fictional and factual texts, including academic writing. Please note that due to the time required with these tasks, extra lesson time may need to be booked in order for me to carry these out. I have business experience in international insurance and accounting. I can also help with spoken English classes, whether it be conversational or to improve your British English pronunciation and accent reduction if required. Lessons are typically 60 minutes long but I recommend 30 minutes for young children.
