About Malika
Hi, I'm Malika! I recently graduated with a BA in English Language and Linguistics and have a strong passion for helping students reach their academic potential. Alongside my degree, I studied English Language & Literature and Geography at A-Level, giving me a solid understanding of the subjects I teach. I also have two years of experience working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school, where I supported students with a wide range of learning needs and developed a patient, adaptable, and encouraging teaching style. I aim for a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and achieving their goals, whether they need help with coursework, exam preparation, essay writing, or improving their overall understanding of a subject.
I also love making jokes and hearing them...they make my day!

With my experience working with multiple children with different behavioural and learning needs, I believe that every student learns differently. Therefore, I tailor all my lessons to each individual's personal goal, school goal, and their own pace. I always encourage active engagement and participation in discussions and activities, and provide feedback at the end of each session. This ensures that I know that the student is actively understanding concepts rather than memorising information.
My lessons are structured around the student's specific needs, whether that involves improving essay writing, developing analytical skills, preparing for exams, or strengthening subject knowledge. I use a combination of explanations, guided practice, worked examples, and exam-style questions. For English, I focus on developing critical thinking, reading comprehension, linguistic analysis, and essay-writing skills. For Geography, I help students understand key concepts while developing exam technique and case-study knowledge.
My lessons are usually a minimum of one hour per week. However, longer and more sessions can be arranged, especially for exam preparation.
I have a BA in English Language and Linguistics and have previously studied English Language & Literature and Geography at A-Level. Alongside my academic background, I have two years of experience working in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This experience has strengthened my ability to adapt lessons to different learning needs, provide additional support where necessary, and create a positive learning environment for students of all abilities.
My lessons are suitable for:
- Primary school pupils requiring support with English.
- GCSE students studying English Language, English Literature, and Geography.
- A-Level students studying English Language and English Language & Literature, and Geography
- Students who would like to improve their essay-writing, analytical, and study skills.
- Learners who benefit from personalised support, including those with additional learning needs.
