About Anna

I have been providing tutoring in German, English and French for six years. In total I accompanied eight different students over the years. Five of them in the lower secondary school (5th to 8th grade) and two from the Secondary High School to the final examinations this year. I'm doing Skype tuition with one student in German. Of course, I can not move milestones by myself as a tutor if the student does not have the motivation to improve. In average, however, I can proudly say that ALL of my students have improved by at least one grade, a student even by 2 (from 4 to 2).

About the lesson

Hi!
My name is Anna, I am 19 years old and I'm living in Heidelberg since June 2017 where I study German and English for becoming a teacher.
To find out how the student's knowledge and understanding is, I like my student to explain the theme first. That's how I can find out the strength and the weaknesses. I did my Abitur in 2016, so my own school time is not long ago, which is why I do not want to put the students under additional pressure. I think if you have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere it's much easier for both sides and hopefully brings back the fun and interest in the subject. After graduating from high school I was in America for four months, where I could improve my English. My main strengths in German are mainly creative writing (essays, interpretations, etc.), the grammar and spelling is, of course, a prerequisite, which I can explain in a clear way. In recent years I have also given tuition in French. I took part in two student exchanges in France. In all three subjects, I try to give as many examples as possible to clarify what the teacher tried to explain (by means of the notes of the school lesson). If necessary, homework can also be done together. We can learn together before exams. With my previous tutoring students I have prepared several presentations (search for information, translate into the foreign language, use the presentation medium, write notes, practice lectures, ask questions).
