About Seng Hong

Engaging and inspiring tutoring I am a professional tutor with over 4000 hours of tutoring hours. I have tutored students from some of the world’s top universities which include: Imperial College, Queen Mary’s and Cass Business School. My A-levels students have been achieving A+/A/B grades in recent exams. I have also successfully helped students with Critical Thinking tests (Watson Glaser). Subjects: Business Management, Law and Government and Politics, Economics (Home and Online tutoring). I also prepare students for 11+ Pre-Test, 13+ Common Entrance, GCSE, IGCSE, A-Level, IB and Cambridge Pre-U examinations and university admissions tests. 11+ I coach boys into Winchester, Westminster, Eton, St Paul’s, Harrow, Tonbridge, Wellington and Charterhouse, amongst other schools. I teach interview technique, verbal and nonverbal reasoning. Critical Thinking tests (Watson Glaser) / Career Application Provide one-to-one career/confidence coaching service to guide students in the application process. Confidence/Performance/ Life Coaching I am passionate about helping you reach your full potential. Coaching can help you reach key decisions, achieve resilience and confidence. It is also very useful in identifying your career path, higher education course and subjects. I use a practical approach to helping students understand the subject and what is needed of them, therefore able to achieve the best possible results. I am also able to draw on my real-world business experience as I have over 15 years of business experience working in multinational organisations globally. I have worked in strategic product and business development worldwide. I have helped many students achieve and exceed their expected grades. For me, every student has the ability to succeed. The important approach is to be able to apply academic theories to practical business. I can help you with this process, to understand and apply the most complex concepts. My aim is to identify the knowledge gap of clients and develop a training programme to improve overall performance. This will give you the confidence to achieve your desired results. I have a law degree and an MBA. Tutoring approach My strength is listening to your difficulties and challenges and then providing a way for you gain clarity and confidence in your subject. Students will succeed if they are able to digest complicated theories and concepts and have the confidence in their application. I am able to break down these ideas in easily digestible chunks. I can help you find ways to understand the areas that you find tricky, supplementing your classroom and individual study. Essay approach: The approach I adopt is to read all the relevant literature (usually articles and journals) and then help my students use the relevant materials to address the scope of their essay. We will also need to critically analyse the theories/framework as this will secure higher marks. I am a firm believer that students need to take control of their learning. I will begin by discussing the areas that you feel you are weakest at and we will work through from there. We can work together to find the techniques and approaches that meet your learning style. I have been educated both in Asia and in the UK, therefore I can help international students adjust to the education system in the UK. I can help you understand what is expected of you to achieve your grades/goals. I also offer tutoring via Skype. Perfect! Great tutor who adds depth and creativity to the subject
Seng periodically tutored our son over the two A Level years and more intensively over summer exam time. My son really appreciated the added value that Seng brought to his revision studies that enabled him to achieve a very high grade at A Level. A really lovely guy and a tutor I would highly recommend!

I was looking for a quality A Level law tutor for my son who was taking a distance learning law A Level in his gap year. He had the basic understanding but just needed the extra bit of "polishing" on learning how to structure A and AS Level essays etc. Seng's profile stood out a mile. He was a little more pricey than other tutors, but the old adage 'you get what you pay for' certainly rings true for Seng! My son tells me he did a fantastic job in refining his law knowledge and improving his exam technique so a high grade was possible. Over the 10 sessions spread over 5 weeks, Seng spent time going through the syllabus, questioning my son's knowledge in a very friendly and constructive way and made the subject clearer and exciting. He gave my son confidence to express his views and each of the two hour sessions were animated, fun and above all informative and educational. Sent was highly communicative, even down to letting us know his train was late and eta. I cannot recommend Seng more highly enough!
