About Jayla
As a tutor, I am committed to my student's growth and improvement, and thus, I put in the time and effort to ensure that my students are achieving their best. In the past I have tutored calculus, algebra and functions for high school students, however, I have also assisted elementary students with math. As an undergraduate student, I have taken math university courses at the University of Toronto including calculus. Additionally, I was a teaching assistant for a high school teacher for 3 years. It would be my pleasure to work with you, and I hope to hear from you.

When tutoring my students, we go over concepts learned in class of which I simplify and explain them so that they are comprehensible to the student. Understanding the basis of mathematical concepts often enables my students to transfer the knowledge learned in our sessions to the variety of questions customarily present in math. In the past I have tutored calculus, algebra and functions for high school students, however, I have also assisted elementary students with math.

Jayla is such a welcoming and attentive teacher! She always makes you feel comfortable learning new material and takes the time to carefully explain and walk you through the different ways to solve a math problem. She's really engaging and makes you look forward to working on your math homework instead of dreading it. Definitely the best math tutor I've ever had! Highly recommend!
I had grade 12 calculus and was very lost in the in-class lessons. Jayla helped me really understand concepts by going over different problems multiple times until I understood how to complete the problems without any help.
