My Skillset/Qualification/About Me :

Aston University Finance Undergraduate - Achieved a 1st in my 1st year of university - 19 years old - Great GCSE and A Level Results.
1 hour Lessons (Subject to more on request) - Flexible - Weekdays (Evening) or Weekends (Morning) - East London.

Low level of experience as a tutor however I have been tutored my whole life from a young age including SATS, 11+, GCSE's and A-Levels using various techniques and methods. Have gained a lot of knowledge in terms of how to engage with students and the best techniques to use for certain types of calculations along with personalising it to the student to ensure they are effective methods of teaching that can be easy to understand and grasp.

Being someone who has learned from multiple tutors in different subjects I understand the needs of students and ways to help them retain the information they learn without it feeling boring and tedious. I have learning different techniques which can be used to find which ones suit the student effectively.

My tutoring service is generally for young children wanting to learn basic and foundation maths skills from someone who is caring, understanding and great with young kids !

I am someone who cares deeply about the foundational skills of any subject as these are the fundamentals and essentials to being able to learn more advanced aspects in the future. I have learned this through not having the fundamentals in place when I was younger which made it harder for me to achieve the outstanding results I have today - which is the reason why I believe in teaching these when they are young before attempting to learn more advanced concepts.

About the lesson

Lesson Summary :

For new students, I conduct a small informal quiz to understand what level the student is at currently and shows me what they struggle and excel in allowing me to structure a study plan that is tailored specifically for the student. Please note that this initial quiz will be INFORMAL just in order to gage the students current level of abilities, strengths and weaknesses.

The students will then be taught what they need in order to excel - along with practical quizzes/new teaching methods (or their current depending if the chosen technique works for them already) - Usage of diagrams, resources, anagrams, etc.. all used in order to help the student remember what they have learned and put into practical use.

I set out each lesson with a clear structure, outlining the learning objectives and what they will hope to learn out of the lesson giving them a concise goal which changes per lesson as they progress. Homework is also given to ensure that students are keeping their newly learnt information fresh in their mind and will be marked and gone through in the next lesson to help rectify any mistakes and understand where they went wrong and ways to improve. The homework will progressively change and be altered in ways to suit the student so that it is always an efficient way of learning that is specific to the student depending on their progress and weaknesses.

I am always open for critique on my teaching, or any preferred techniques that the student is already comfortable with in order to achieve the best results for my students.

Can be 1 to 1 or group sessions - open to negotiation and interest based soley on the students and how it can positively affect their learning.

I am open to any questions and flexibility regarding the subjects I am able to tutor based on my qualifications and skills set as I am proficient in English and have a strong understanding in the 3 sciences and Geography aswell. My qualifications and education results can be requested if needed.
