About Polly
I am a dedicated Piano tutor with more than 12 years of teaching experience, teaching students of all ages from school children to working professionals. My mission is to help students develop strong technical skills, musical understanding, and confidence while enjoying the process of learning piano.
My teaching philosophy emphasises clear instruction, patience, and steady progress. I focus on building strong fundamentals, including finger technique, hand coordination, rhythm, sight reading, and music theory. I also encourage creativity and musical expression so that students can enjoy playing music in their own way. Lessons are explained in simple, friendly language with practical exercises and familiar songs to make learning both fun and effective.
I tailor lessons to each student’s goals and abilities. Whether the objective is preparing for exams, performing on stage, or learning piano as a hobby, I provide step-by-step guidance and effective practice methods. Many of my students have successfully performed at events, completed graded exams, and developed a lifelong love for music. Helping students grow musically and personally remains my proudest achievement.

I break down lessons into clear, manageable steps and provide detailed demonstrations to make complex concepts easy to understand. I encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and express themselves through music. Constructive feedback and positive reinforcement are central to my approach, helping students stay motivated and confident.
I also teach other relevant subjects, applying the same student-focused, adaptable, and interactive methodology. My ultimate goal is to nurture confidence, inspire curiosity, and help students develop a lifelong love for learning and music, ensuring every lesson is both productive and enjoyable.
