About Maritza
"Sitting across from a student as they analyze their first tournament game reveals the exact point where a tactical pattern takes hold in their mind. My 10 years of coaching experience combined with my MA Mathematics from the American University of Sharjah shapes how I teach opening principles and king safety. I build a systematic repertoire while focusing on defensive technique and rigorous blunder checking to ensure consistent growth.
Developing the DISCIPLINED THINKING habits required to win games is the core of my approach. Working with players from initial tournaments to rated play allows me to observe how they handle middlegame planning and game analysis. I truly enjoy seeing students record their moves and apply notation with clarity. I hope to see you at the board soon."
