About Theodore
Theodore Hicks is a professional voice teacher, conductor, and music educator with nearly two decades of experience working with singers at all levels. He serves as Director of Choral Activities and Assistant Professor of Music at Anderson University, where he teaches voice, conducting, music literacy, and secondary choral methods, and conducts multiple ensembles.
Theo’s teaching emphasizes healthy, efficient vocal technique paired with strong musicianship. In addition to vocal development, students gain skills in sight-reading, musical interpretation, ensemble awareness, arranging, and conducting—helping them become well-rounded, confident musicians rather than just good singers. His approach is practical, individualized, and grounded in real-world performance and teaching experience.
Whether working with aspiring professionals, music educators, or motivated non-majors, Theo is committed to helping students understand their voices, grow musically, and sing with confidence and longevity.
