About Spencer
My mission as a trumpet instructor is to help students achieve excellence through personalised teaching, consistent encouragement, and a genuine passion for music education. I believe successful learning happens when students feel motivated, supported, and challenged in the right way. Every lesson is carefully planned to match the student's age, experience, learning style, and long term goals while maintaining a balance between technical development and creative expression.
Students receive comprehensive instruction in breathing techniques, posture, embouchure formation, articulation, rhythm, note reading, scales, tone production, flexibility, endurance, range development, phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, ear training, music theory, orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo performance, ensemble playing, and audition preparation.
I also teach practical strategies for building confidence, improving practice efficiency, overcoming performance anxiety, and developing healthy playing habits that support lifelong musicianship. Through detailed feedback, regular progress evaluations, and individualised lesson plans, I help students become confident, expressive, and technically accomplished trumpet players who enjoy learning, performing, and continuing to grow throughout their musical journey.

My trumpet lessons provide students with a complete musical education that goes beyond learning notes and techniques. Along with developing breathing, posture, embouchure, articulation, rhythm, scales, tone quality, and music reading, students learn how to perform with confidence, musicality, and expression.
Lessons include flexibility exercises, endurance development, phrasing, dynamics, ear training, sight reading, music theory, and practice planning. Advanced students study orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo literature, ensemble performance, advanced tonguing, and audition preparation.
My patient teaching style, personalised guidance, and constructive feedback help students build excellent habits that support long term success and continuous improvement.
