About Joni

I am a passionate flute tutor with 16+ years of teaching experience, having successfully guided around 150 students from beginner to advanced levels. I enjoy helping students explore music in a simple and enjoyable way while building their confidence step by step.

My teaching approach is based on communication, creativity, and flexibility, allowing me to adjust lessons according to each student’s learning style and goals. I focus on strong fundamentals such as breath control, fingering, tone quality, and rhythm to ensure steady progress. I make my classes engaging by including exercises, songs, and creative activities that keep students motivated.

I am patient and supportive, helping students understand each concept clearly. I also guide students in basic music theory and effective practice techniques. My goal is to make flute learning easy, enjoyable, and meaningful.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology for flute is centred on adaptation to individual learning styles, flexibility, collaboration, and positivity, ensuring that every student experiences both progress and enjoyment. I understand that each learner is unique, so I begin by identifying their goals, skill level, and preferred learning style—whether visual, auditory, or hands-on.

In flute training, I focus on building a strong foundation in breath control, tone production, finger technique, and rhythm. I adapt lessons to suit beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced students by adjusting pace, exercises, and repertoire. Flexibility is key in my sessions, allowing me to modify lesson plans based on the student’s progress and comfort.

Collaboration plays an important role in my teaching. I encourage students to actively participate, ask questions, and explore music creatively. We often work together on pieces, improvisation, and performance techniques to build confidence and musical expression.

I maintain a positive and supportive environment where students feel motivated and encouraged. Mistakes are treated as part of the learning process, helping students grow without fear. Along with flute, I also teach relevant subjects such as basic music theory, rhythm training, and ear training to strengthen overall musical understanding.

My goal is to help students become confident, expressive, and technically skilled flute players while developing a lifelong love for music.
