About Ruby
I am a devoted violin tutor with 3 years of experience teaching school, college, and working professional students. I have successfully mentored 200 to 300 students, helping them build strong technique and musical confidence. My teaching philosophy is based on flexibility, real-world examples, integrity, creativity, and problem-solving, ensuring each learner gets sessions suited to their pace and goals. I adjust my approach based on individual progress, give honest feedback, and encourage creative exploration once fundamentals are strong. When learners meet challenges like bow control or pitch accuracy, I break them into manageable steps for steady improvement. My aim is to help every learner grow into a confident, skilled violinist through consistent, supportive guidance.

My teaching method for Violin, Music Theory, and Ear Training centers on helping learners build solid technique while keeping sessions flexible enough to fit their individual needs. Even in the early stages of my tutoring career, I have focused on developing a methodology that is honest, practical, and adaptable.
Flexibility is at the heart of how I structure my sessions. Every learner grasps things differently, so I adjust the pace, style, and focus of each session based on how a learner is progressing, whether that means spending extra time on a tricky passage or moving faster through ideas they grasp quickly.
I bring in real-world examples and case studies from professional violinists and genuine performance situations to help learners connect their practice to actual musical experiences, whether orchestra playing, solo performance, or ensemble work. This makes learning feel relevant rather than purely theoretical.
Integrity guides how I give feedback. I am honest about a learner's progress, clearly pointing out strengths and areas that need more work, so they always have an accurate grasp of where they stand and what to focus on next.
Creativity is something I encourage throughout sessions, whether through exploring different musical styles or trying simple improvisation once basic technique is established. This helps learners connect emotionally with their playing rather than just focusing on accuracy.
Problem-solving comes into play whenever a learner meets specific difficulties, such as bow control or pitch issues. I break these challenges into smaller, manageable steps and work through practical solutions together until they build confidence.
My sessions begin with posture, bow hold, and finger positioning, followed by scales and simple melodies. I introduce music theory basics early, along with ear training, to build a strong all round base. My aim is to create a flexible, honest, and supportive space where every violin learner can grow steadily and confidently.
