About Chris
I'm a Design and Technology teacher based in Perth, with 10 years' classroom experience across Western Australian schools, including 2 years in a remote school in the Kimberley. Before teaching, I spent 10 years as an interior architect in London, working on 5-star hotels and luxury residential projects.
That combination means I don't just teach the design process from a textbook — I've used it professionally, from concept through to delivery on real commercial projects. I bring that industry perspective into every lesson, whether we're developing a design folio, refining technical drawing skills, or preparing for exams.
My focus is straightforward: understand where a student is stuck, and get them moving again with clear, practical guidance.

I teach Design & Technology the way it's meant to be learned, creatively and with flexibility. Lessons follow the design process your coursework already demands: research and analysis, ideation and sketching, prototyping, and evaluation. Rather than generic exercises, I work directly on your current assignment, major project, or exam preparation, so every session improves your mark. I adjust pace and depth to the individual — some students need help structuring a design folio, others need technical skills (CAD, materials, manufacturing processes) tightened up before a deadline.
Standard sessions run 60 minutes. For practical or folio-heavy work I'd recommend 90 minutes so there's enough time to get properly into a task rather than stopping just as momentum builds.
