About Kelsey
My name is Kelsey Collins and I have been a special education teacher for six years. I love teaching foundational reading and supporting my students in their love of reading or helping them become better readers. My goal is to provide students with structured goals to work towards and ensure they know where they are on their goals!

-A typical lesson for students seeking foundational English/reading/phonics would start with practice in phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, reading, writing, vocabulary, and fluency.
-For students seeking comprehension skills I would incorporate the students state curriculum standards or provide a basic comprehension assessment to assess the level of need in this area. Our lessons would include background knowledge work, vocabulary integration, paragraph chunking, and paragraph shrinking strategies.
