About Shannon
My background demonstrates my great passion for Sociology and Criminology. I am an academic expert in Sociology, with a first class degree and PhD. Alongside this I have a top grade master's in Criminology. I moved into teaching after my position in research because I wanted to put my research into practice. My research background focuses on the Sociology of education. I researched and implemented outcomes related inclusive teaching and learning, and improving outcomes for all students, especially marginalised and/or disadvantaged students. When I teach, I aim to work with the student in a style that best suits their preference to bring the very best out of them.

I have a PhD in Sociology, a master's in Criminology, and I am currently an A Level Lecturer in Sociology and Criminology. I combine deep academic expertise with daily classroom experience to help students master complex theories and ace their exams. Whether a student is struggling to structure a 30-mark AQA Sociology essay, trying to master WJEC Criminology controlled assessments, or aiming for an A for top-tier university entry, I will be there to guide them through.
I focus on developing content knowledge, mastering AO1, AO2 and AO3 skills and essay structure. I tailor my lessons to the exact exam board specifications. I focus heavily on command words, mark schemes, essay structure and time management.
