About Rianne

Passed ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction. Passed ABRSM grade 5 theory with merit. Preparing for ATCL exam at the moment . With years of experience teaching kids and teens piano. 100% passing rate for all students I taught from grade 1-6. 100% student achieved merit and above. 100% student achieve distinction in grade 5 thoery. Whether teaching beginners or refining the skills of advanced players, I strive to ignite in them a lifelong love for the piano. As playing piano is mental therapy for me. I don’t mind students discussing with me or sending me the song they are practising outside lesson time! I always keep a good relationship with learners even outside lessons, they are my friends in the journey of piano.

In my lessons, I offer a comprehensive and tailored approach to piano instruction. From beginners to advanced players, my focus is on developing strong fundamentals, musical expression, technique and music theory and background. Each session is thoughtfully designed according to individual learning styles, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience. Whether you're aiming for examinations, performances, or simply playing for pleasure, I am dedicated to guiding you towards your musical aspirations. We celebrate learner’s milestone, no self-doubt. Every learner could progress at its own pace

When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?
I started learning piano when I was 6 and felt really passionate when I was 13 years old. My favourite instrument is the piano.
Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?
Soft classical music has always my favourite.
Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.
The most difficult one would be grade 7 with theory in piano.
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
I think the most complicated instrument to master is the oboe. It requires the player to control multiple things at the same time. It demands a lot from the mouth, lips, tongue and breath because the sound of the instrument's notes isn't just controlled by finger placement.
What are your keys to success?
The key to success in piano really requires lots of hard work and patience and most importantly a passion for music.
Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.
I would really love to meet Lang Lang,Yuja Wang and Louis Lotie. I want to hear their personal experience about them and their journey with music
Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.
I hated sight reading when I was young but I really want to learn a lot of new pop songs quickly. I always get bored practising pieces over and over again. Eventually, my sight reading improved and I could play with both hands immediately after I scanned through the pieces.
What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
There's never a shortcut, practice day by day you will see the difference eventually.
