About Jojo

Hello Everyone! I'm Jojo, a native Chinese speaker from China and currently living in the UK. I taught Mandarin to wide range of levels for three years with a teaching qualification. On this journey, I found that cross-cultural teaching very interesting and enlightening. I like to share fun and effective language learning methods with people and listen to them, make their Chinese learning easier! I also enjoy talking to a variety of people, listening to their stories and learning about different cultures. In my spare time, I love cooking, traveling, hiking, gardening and writing calligraphy. I would love to discuss more with you in the class!

About the lesson

Learners of all levels welcome! My courses and materials are personalized and can be flexibly adjusted according to your learning goals, preferences, and needs.

Course content mainly includes: basic spoken English, listening and speaking training, travel English (common high-frequency dialogues in different scenarios), business travel English (meetings, emails, trade), pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar instruction, various Chinese proficiency exams(YCT,HSK,HSKK,BCT), cultural exploration, and more.

From my experience and understanding, making the class interesting and relevant to students' real lives doubles learning efficiency. Of course, continuous practice and practical application are essential. My teaching follows the principles of second language acquisition, with listening and speaking driving reading and writing, so you don't need to worry about memorizing a lot of complex content. I am good at breaking down complex knowledge points to make them easier for you to understand from simple to complex, such as pinyin and sentence structure or grammar.

If you take a 1.5 hours lesson each time, the class usually includes two 45 minutes, we can have 5 minutes break between. Or if you take one hour class, which includes two 30 minutes lessons in a row.

If you are a beginner, I will customize teaching materials or recommend suitable textbooks based on your interests and learning habits! Your experience of learning a new language will be joyful accomplished!
If you plan to go to China and need to use Chinese for life and work, I will design teaching materials based on your usage scenarios to help you gradually master practical everyday spoken Chinese, business Chinese conversation, and meeting, email writing.
If you are a child, my classes will incorporate interactive games, Chinese songs, and crafts.
If you are preparing for the HSK/YCT/HSKK/BCT exam, I will guide you through mock exams and focus on reviewing frequently tested topics and pass the exam smoothly.
