Hi there! My name is Sara. I’m a credentialed classroom teacher with over 10 years of experience. Teaching isn’t just my job; it’s my passion. I absolutely love working with kids, helping them overcome learning anxiety, and watching their confidence soar. My journey began as a long-term substitute teacher at a high-achieving elementary school. The environment was intense and strict, but something wonderful happened. After just a couple of months, I received a heartfelt thank you note from a parent. Their child no longer dreaded going to school. The anxiety had melted away, and they were happy again. That moment was a game-changer for me. I realized the profound impact I could have on a child's life. I knew this was my calling. So here I am, ready to make a difference for your child. I can't wait to get to know them personally, understand their interests, and create a learning experience that's both fun and effective.

About the lesson

I offer personalized tutoring sessions designed to meet your child's individual needs, interests, and learning style. With a focus on making learning enjoyable and effective, I bring 10+years of experience and a genuine passion for education to each session.

Our lessons begin with an icebreaker to help your child connect with me and transition into the lesson. When I teach a new concept, I always use some hands-on virtual learning tool to get your student's attention and help them begin to understand the concept.

After they begin learning through "play" in this way, we begin to practice the concept together. I see how they are completing problems and guide them based on their mistakes.

Then, if they're ready, your student practices this concept on their own while I assess their understanding. Based on this, I design their next lesson and communicate with you what they are working on and still need help with.

Sara was my son's 5th grade classroom teacher back in 2017-2018. He still says she was his favorite lower elementary teacher and can still vividly remember some projects the worked on. In his words, "Sara was fun, creative, a good listener and helped to teach me to take ownership of my learning experience." Sara is able to connect with each child and is able to find the best way for them to learn, depending on the child's strengths and challenges. I would highly recommend Sara as a tutor. She is a kind, compassionate, creative and fun teacher, and is passionate about her craft.
