I worked with Alishya to polish a selection of poems that were eventually published by a literary magazine. Alishya's editing was generous, generative, patient, and meticulous. I took lessons with Alishya when I was working on my college applications for U.S. universities last fall. We worked on essays and my creative writing portfolio. Alishya's friendly and approachable demeanor charmed me right off the bat. She was a good listener and gave good advice. I was impressed by how prepared she was and the lessons were so well structured, I always left feeling like our time was well spent. She was willing to look at so many drafts of the same essay and gave me encouraging feedback each time. I felt very proud of what I ended up with.
