About Johanna
Starting violin at age five through the Suzuki method shaped my teaching philosophy, with listening and musical awareness coming before reading. This foundation continues to influence how I help students build confidence and develop strong playing habits.
With 13 years of teaching experience, I guide students through challenging techniques such as shifting positions, vibrato, advanced bowing, double stops, and precise intonation. I also help students explore classical repertoire with greater control and expression.
I regularly prepare students for ABRSM and Trinity grade examinations while also supporting those pursuing competitive conservatory auditions. Each lesson is structured around clear progress, strong technique, and confident musical performance.

Bows glide across strings as we refine your intonation in real time. We focus on technical precision through rigorous staccato and spiccato drills.
My MMus training informs every correction I offer during our 1 hour sessions. I provide recorded playback of your trickiest passages for home practice review.
You will receive direct feedback on audition rep and interview presence. My goal is to ensure you sound polished for admissions panels. I integrate audition strategies into our routine to reduce anxiety. Does your current practice schedule support your goal of entering a top music school?
