About Nidhi

Computer Science teacher with 16+ years’ experience, including time teaching in a Milton Keynes school. I make programming and algorithms easy to understand through patient, hands-on lessons for GCSE, A-Level and university students. Enhanced DBS checked, available online or in person in Milton Keynes.

About the lesson

My techniques and teaching methodology

I believe computer science is learnt by doing, so every lesson is hands-on. I begin by finding out what you already know and where you get stuck, then build a plan around that. I explain each idea in simple steps, using examples and diagrams, and then we apply it straight away by writing and debugging real code together. I use Python, C, C++, C# and SQL, and I cover data structures, algorithms, databases and software testing.

For GCSE and A-Level students, I focus on exam technique as well as understanding: working through past-paper questions, writing pseudocode, tracing algorithms and explaining answers clearly. For university students, I help with coursework, programming assignments and projects, and I can guide dissertation work. After each lesson I can share notes, practice questions or worked examples. I teach online using Zoom, Google Classroom and shared coding tools, or in person around Milton Keynes.

Typical length of a lesson

Lessons are usually 60 minutes. I’m happy to arrange 90-minute sessions for project work or exam revision, or shorter sessions for younger students. The first lesson is a chance to set goals and see if we’re a good fit.
