My Approach as a Tutor

Teaching Methodology and Techniques

I believe in active learning through practical application. My teaching methodology combines clear explanations of concepts with hands-on practice to ensure understanding and retention. For coding, I use real-world examples, debugging exercises, and project-based learning to make abstract concepts tangible. For math, I break down complex problems into manageable steps, using visual aids and relatable analogies. I adapt my pace and style to each student’s learning needs, encouraging questions and fostering a collaborative environment.

Typical Lesson Plan

A typical 1-hour lesson starts with a 5-10 minute review of previous material or a quick Q&A to gauge understanding. Next, I introduce a new concept (e.g., a programming topic like loops or a math topic like algebra) with a brief explanation and examples (10-15 minutes). The core of the lesson (30-35 minutes) involves guided practice—students solve problems or write code while I provide real-time feedback. We wrap up with a 5-minute summary and assign practice tasks to reinforce learning.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor

With 5 years of IT industry experience, I bring practical, real-world insights to coding and problem-solving, making lessons relevant and engaging. My ongoing journey to sharpen my mathematical skills keeps me empathetic to students’ challenges, ensuring patient and relatable instruction. I’m passionate about teaching, tailoring lessons to each student’s goals, and fostering confidence through incremental progress.

Who My Lessons Are For

My lessons are designed for:

Beginner to intermediate coders (high school, college, or self-learners) looking to learn languages like Python, Java, or C++ or build projects.
High school or early college students needing support in mathematics (algebra, calculus, discrete math, etc.).
Anyone seeking to bridge theory and practice in coding or math, regardless of prior experience.
Whether you’re preparing for exams, building a portfolio, or exploring a new skill, I’m here to guide you with clear, practical, and engaging lessons!
