About Danai

"I am very open to the stylistic choices of the students and adapt the lesson to fit their particular needs or interests. When it comes to piano teaching, i find it important to teach in an overall way, one that incorporates ear-training but also theory together with piano playing.
When it comes to composition, I'm coaching anyone who needs advice as to how to write their own music, how to develop their compositional tools, song-writing skills, how to translate conceptual ideas into practical material. This also applies to children, who might want to get the basics of making their own song, either on an instrument or on the computer.
I have experience teaching adults but also kids between 4-15 years of age. I believe it is never late to start learning music and that learning to make music is (& should) firstly be a fun and then a challenging adventure."

About the lesson

The classes are open to all ages from 4 and above, as I have a 10 year teaching experience with both children and adults.
As a composition graduate from Conservatorium van Amsterdam I offer a stylistically open approach, based on the wishes/needs of each student.
A variety of possibilities regarding the topic of the classes, including general music knowledge, acquaintance with music and art currents of the 20th and 21st century, song-writing with strong basis on the fundamentals of composition, piano lessons, music theory.
When it comes to piano teaching, I find it important to teach in an overall way, that incorporates ear-training & theory together with piano playing. This way i find that the lesson becomes much more stimulating, and it also becomes much more easy to learn.
When it comes to composition, I'm coaching anyone who needs advice as to how to write their own music, how to develop their compositional tools, song-writing skills, how to translate conceptual ideas into practical material. This also applies to children, who might want to get the basics of making their own song, either on an instrument or on the computer.
I believe it is never late to start learning music and that learning to make music is firstly a fun and then a challenging adventure.

The duration of the classes depends on the needs and age of the student, typically between 30' - 1 hour.
The lessons can be done in Dutch, English, French, Italian or Greek.
