About Chloe
Hi! I’m Chloe Liuyan, a composer and sound designer based in New Jersey and New York. I hold a Master’s degree in Music Composition and have experience across concert music, electronic music, media scoring, and pop music production.
I specialize in personalized one-on-one lessons that are tailored to each student’s goals, whether you’re building a strong foundation in classical piano, exploring composition and songwriting, or learning modern music technology. I work with a limited number of students to ensure focused guidance and meaningful growth.
My teaching emphasizes confidence, creativity, and long-term musical development, and I have experience working with both children and adults. Lessons are available online or in-person, and I can teach in English or Chinese.

My teaching approach is centered on creativity and long-term musical growth. As a composer and sound designer, I bring experience from concert music, electronic music, media scoring, and pop production into my teaching.
I design one-on-one lessons tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you are building a strong foundation through classical piano, exploring creativity through composition and songwriting, or learning modern music technology, lessons are shaped around your individual path.
A typical lesson may include a balance of:
• Fundamental skills (technique, ear training, and musical understanding)
• Creative work (composition, songwriting, or improvisation)
• Listening, reflection, and discussion
• Introduction to music production or sound design when appropriate
I work with a small number of students because I believe meaningful growth takes time, care, and trust. My goal is to help students build confidence, solid skills, and a meaningful, personal relationship with music.
My lessons are open to:
• Children and teens building musical foundations through piano and creative learning
• Anyone starting for the first time or returning to music at any age (no formal background required)
• Students interested in songwriting, music production, or classical composition
• Artists and creatives who want to integrate music into a broader artistic practice
I have experience working with both children and adults, and I welcome students of all levels.
