About Greta
I primarily work as a journalist and have written widely for places like The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and Quartz. I bring my love for language, writing, and critical thinking to my work as a tutor. I'm a compassionate teacher who can help students structure essays, understand the nuances of grammar, and ultimatley come to appreciate the joy of language.
I am an experienced SAT tutor in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing sections. As a high school student, I scored in the 99th percentile on the SATs and can help any student develop strategies for approaching this important test.

I am an Columbia graduate and experiened tutor specializing in writing, English literature, and the SAT verbal sections for all ages. I love working with younger students (K-8th grade) and am able to offer them lessons in any subject. As a science journalist, I'm particularly knowledgeable in the basic sciences.
I am a patient, dedicated teacher who always works hard to guage where the student is in his or her learning process. After assessing a student's skill level, I try to work on specific challenges. Repetitiion is so key to learning! I try to incorporate what we've learned into new lessons to ensure the student really masters the material. I'm always open to feedback as a teacher. I encourage the student to ask a lot of questins and am always open to changing the format of our lessons.
I'm honored to work as a tutor. The importance of learning cannot be overstated. I take this job very seriously, while also maintaining a sense of humor.
