About Eleanor
Hi! My name is Eleanor and I am a NYC-based vocalist with a BFA in vocal performance, currently studying to go to medical school. During my college years, I was primarily a jazz vocalist and bandleader, but I also composed music, trained as an operatic soprano for 3 years, and focused on speech pathology, vocal anatomy, and pedagogy. I am friendly and experienced, and would love to help you with any of your musical needs!

My teaching approach builds on three foundational subjects: technique, theory, and ear training.
- Technique lessons will focus on vocal anatomy, breathing, visualization methods, tone, vibrato, and style, customized to meet your goals.
- Theory lessons include basics, like scales, clefs, key signatures, time signatures, and chords. I can cover basic piano skills and sight reading as well. If you'd like, we can cover genre-specific musical features, as well as more complex topics like modes, chord extensions, and strategies for improvisation.
- Ear training focuses on recognizing major/minor scales, intervals, and chord types, as well as singing what you hear.
I take students of all levels, genres, and preferences, but especially enjoy teaching amateur musicians.
If you'd like to learn how to sing, read or write music, or simply enjoy the music you listen to through a musician's ears, I am the teacher for you!
