About Ruth
Learning a new language is a voyage through different ways of thinking and seeing the world. My sessions for teens, exam prep candidates, and absolute beginners focus on real communication.
I hold a BMus Popular Music and a Licenciatura, which informs how I break down complex grammar. We look at writing skills, listening practice, idioms, and conversational fluency.
We spend time on verb conjugation and the differences between Latin American and Castilian variants. The DELE preparation is rigorous. Beginners enjoy the focus on everyday phrases. It is a joy to see students grasp the rhythm of the accent and intonation.

Walking through the streets of Mexico City, I first understood that language is inseparable from song. I have taught 400 students over 13 years, sharing the nuances of Spanish that textbooks often skip.
My teaching character is shaped by my 13 years living and performing in Australia. I find that learning feels more natural when you understand the history of the words. It is my pleasure to pass on this heritage as your tutor from the Chilean tradition.
