About Thomas

You're in good hands! I’m a graduate student specializing in science with years of hands-on laboratory experience in a regulated, industry-grade environment. I currently work as an analytical chemist in a GMP-compliant lab, where I use advanced instrumentation daily, including ICP-MS, titration systems, and chromatography, to ensure product safety and quality. My background bridges academic knowledge and real-world application. I know how overwhelming chemistry and general science courses can feel, especially without clear guidance. I teach with patience, structure, and clarity, using relatable examples and proven study techniques to help students truly understand the material. Whether you're in high school, preparing for AP Chemistry, or starting your college-level science courses, I’ll meet you where you are and help you build the skills and confidence you need to succeed. I take tutoring seriously and am committed to your growth. Let’s work together to reach your goals!

About the lesson

As a graduate student in science and a working chemist in a regulated lab, I combine academic knowledge with real-world experience to help students truly understand chemistry, not just memorize it. I specialize in tutoring high school and college students who are taking general chemistry, honors chemistry, AP chemistry, or introductory college-level science courses.

My approach is based on breaking down complex topics into digestible, logical parts. I use analogies, guided problem-solving, and real lab examples to make the material more relatable. I tailor my teaching to each student’s learning style, whether visual, hands-on, or step-by-step analytical.

A typical lesson starts with a quick review of previous material, followed by a focused breakdown of new concepts. We then work through problems together, building confidence and clarity. I often include helpful study tips and explain how these concepts show up in real labs and industries like pharmaceuticals or cosmetics.

What sets me apart is that I don’t just know chemistry, I use it daily in a high-level lab environment. I’ve worked with advanced instruments (like ICP-MS, Karl Fischer titration, and chromatography systems), so I bring context to why students are learning what they’re learning.

If you're a student who wants support in science class, test prep, or even learning how chemistry applies to real jobs, I’d be glad to help. My lessons are great for students in high school, early college, or anyone looking to build a strong foundation in chemistry and lab science.
