About Abhi
I hold a BSc Honours and MSc degree in Chemistry and am currently a final-year PhD researcher at Technological University Dublin. I have over four years of university-level Chemistry teaching and demonstrating experience at TU Dublin, first as a Senior Demonstrator and now as a part-time Assistant Lecturer in the School of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Sciences.
In these roles, I have supported undergraduate Chemistry laboratory teaching, practical demonstrations, student questions, experimental procedures, calculations, safety, and assessment feedback. This experience has helped me develop a patient, student-focused approach to explaining Chemistry clearly and practically.
I enjoy helping students remove the fear around conceptual topics and see that Chemistry can be logical, interesting, and even enjoyable when explained step by step. My focus is on building strong fundamentals, improving problem-solving skills, and helping students gain confidence with exams, assignments, and laboratory-based questions. Whether a student needs help with basic concepts or more advanced topics, I adapt my teaching style to their level, pace, and learning needs.

My lessons are designed to make Chemistry clearer, less stressful, and easier to understand. I focus on concept-clearing, problem-solving, and step-by-step explanations rather than memorisation. Before each lesson, I first try to understand what the student is struggling with, then explain the topic using simple language, examples, diagrams, and practice questions.
I can support students with basic Chemistry, mole calculations, atomic structure, electronic configuration, periodic trends, chemical bonding, equilibrium, acids and bases, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, and introductory organic chemistry. I can also help undergraduate students with laboratory concepts, calculations, and report-related understanding & write-ups.
A typical lesson can be 1 hour, but this can be adjusted depending on the student’s needs and level. My lessons are suitable for Leaving Cert, A-Level, and undergraduate students, as well as anyone who wants to strengthen their Chemistry fundamentals.
I am currently completing my PhD research in Chemistry and also have university-level teaching experience as a part-time Assistant Lecturer and former Senior Demonstrator. My teaching style is patient, friendly, and flexible. Students are always welcome to ask basic questions, and I am happy to review class tests or exams with them to explain any areas they find difficult, as building confidence starts from clearing the fundamentals properly.
