About Sean
Hi, I'm Sean! I am a practicing Quantitative Portfolio Manager, an Engineer, and a CFA Charterholder.
I know firsthand how overwhelming finance, math, and coding courses can feel. A few years ago, I successfully navigated all three levels of the CFA exams back-to-back, while also completing my MBA. Through that grueling process, I learned exactly what it takes to master complex financial concepts efficiently, without burning out.
Throughout my career building automated models for wealth management firms, I've realized that my true passion is mentoring junior analysts and helping students demystify the world of finance. My Teaching Approach & Methodology My approach to teaching is built on a unique foundation: I am an Engineer, an MBA graduate, and a CFA Charterholder. Because of my engineering background, my methodology focuses entirely on logical frameworks rather than rote memorization. Finance and quantitative analysis can feel overwhelming when viewed as a giant list of formulas. My goal is to break those formulas down into intuitive, mechanical steps so you understand the "why" behind the math.
I don't just teach theory out of a textbook. As a practicing Quantitative Portfolio Manager who builds automated trading models and asset allocation engines, I bridge the gap between academic concepts and how they are actually applied on the trading desk in the real world.
