• Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

  I speak this language both because of my background and my education. Growing up in a multilingual environment helped me develop an early familiarity with the language, but it was also inspiring teachers who encouraged me to improve, practice, and gain confidence. Their passion for teaching motivated me to go further and eventually teach the language myself.

• Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is an emblematic representative of the language's culture?

  A very emblematic figure of the language’s culture is Victor Hugo. Through his novels and poems, he expressed deep human emotions, social justice, and the richness of the language. His work shows how powerful and beautiful this language can be.

• Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

  I particularly like how the language values politeness and nuance. Simple expressions such as “prendre le temps” (to take one’s time) reflect a cultural appreciation for balance, reflection, and human connection. It’s a language that encourages thoughtfulness.

• Why does speaking this language matter to you?

  Speaking this language matters to me because it connects me to different cultures, people, and opportunities. It allows me to teach, communicate, and travel more freely. On a personal level, it gives me confidence and a strong sense of identity as a multilingual speaker.

• What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

  The main difficulty is often pronunciation and grammar, especially verb tenses. What really helps is regular practice, listening to native speakers, and speaking without fear of making mistakes. Encouragement and a supportive teacher also make a huge difference.

  I remember being nervous the first time I had to speak in front of the class. I made mistakes, but my teacher focused on communication rather than perfection. That moment taught me that confidence is more important than accuracy at the beginning, and it shaped the way I teach my own students today.
