I highly recommend Shaun as a candidate for the math position at SuperProf. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Shaun at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Social Justice Middle School for the past two years. He is a driven, organized teacher who inspires his colleagues and students daily.

When it is necessary to cover colleagues' classes or support additional students, Shaun is always flexible. Throughout his years at MLK, Shaun has taken many roles in order to meet the needs of the school and students. He has taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade curriculum and is always positive throughout these transitions. He provides essential support to our students with and without exceptionalities. He answers questions thoroughly and is sure that staff and parents have a clear understanding of student progress. He is a well rounded and experienced teacher who can overcome any challenge presented to him.

Shaun has wonderful rapport with his students. He has set clear expectations for his students and upon observation it is evident the growth his students have made. The students work very hard to please themselves, their peers, and Shaun. He has created an environment where his students feel safe and work together to meet their goals.

I have worked alongside Shaun as he has been a part of our 7th Grade team at Martin Luther King Junior Social Justice Middle School in Hartford, Connecticut. He is very knowledgeable with subject matter, differentiates instruction for all learners, stays true to the curriculum, and is always willing to explain things in multiple ways to ensure all students have an opportunity to learn using their unique styles and strengths. Shaun uses student data to drive his instruction, and pinpoint what students need to focus on in order to master skills and concepts needed to master skills and concepts. He also works very well with other teachers, and learns new strategies to improve instruction and teaching practices through professional development, team meetings, and data team meetings.

I have known Shaun long before he ever was formally a teacher, and can say that as a person, teaching is part of who he is as a person. I know few people as conscientious, dedicated, empathic, and capable in their craft.
