About Nathan
I have been teaching lessons for one year and have recently gained experience in a CELTA course which I passed. During my CELTA course I taught groups of around 10 students and focussed on adult learners. However, I also have experience with young learners, and have secured employment abroad for 2018 where I will be teaching learners aged 3-14.
I graduated with a degree in English Language and English Literature with Honours of the First Class from the University of Glasgow in the year 2016, and during university I worked extensively with ESL and EAP students.
The students I have worked with have expressed very high satisfaction with my teaching style, and some have gone on to undertake PHD and Masters courses in English.

I tailor my teaching to offer a comprehensive, student focussed experience based on the training I received in my CELTA course. I focus primarily on productive skills as a means to understand grammar and lexis, and encourage my students to immerse themselves in authentic texts in order to improve their receptive skills.
I am also a trained linguist, and as part of my focus on pronunciation I will introduce my students to cutting edge methodology which encourages them to engage with the sounds of English in a way which most tutors overlook.
In a typical lesson, we will focus on a combination of reading and speaking exercises tailored to your competency level. We will use a range of different exercises which challenge you to engage with English in a natural, functional way. My lessons typically last a full hour, but I can be flexible if you feel you require more hours and create longer lessons for your needs.
I believe that English is a fascinating global language and that learning at any age can be a wonderful experience which will change your life.
